Snowboarding in Lake Tahoe

Filed under: Fun Stuff — Administrator @ 5:16 pm

So last week my son and I took a trip to Lake Tahoe to do a little snowboarding and just goof off. We had a great time… one of my favorite places to ski/snowboard is Homewood. Many people might not have heard of Homewood but I have been going there for about 15 years. What makes Homewood a great place to board is:

1) a lot of people don’t know about it
2) many of the runs face Lake Tahoe (see pictures)
3) discount lift tickets monday-thrusday

We did catch a storm so we couldn’t board one of the days… I spent some time gambling then we did a little four wheeling in the snow. We rented a new Lincoln Mark LT Truck and didn’t want that fun to go to waste. (yes, we were sideways too many times to count)

Below are a few of the 178 pictures we took while on the trip.

Isn't the view great! Check the views out!

v7ndotcom elursrebmem

Filed under: Search Engine Optimization — Administrator @ 4:07 pm

So today John Scott of V7N announced the KW’s for his search engine optimization (SEO) contest that has been getting all the buzz.

KW = v7ndotcom elursrebmem

He did a good job (IMO) in picking the KW… at the time of the contest when you Googled “v7ndotcom elursrebmem” it returned zero results. If anyone is interested in competing in the contest here are some of the rules:

1. In order to win the first prize, you must place first in Google (organic rankings) for the search term on May 15, 2006, noon, Pacific standard time.

2. Prizes for 2nd place through 5th place will be awarded based on web page placing in the corresponding positions in Google on May 15, 2006, noon, Pacific standard time.

3. For the purpose of this competition, indented listings in the SERPs will not be counted.

4. In order to qualify for the prize, a web page must include one of the following: (goes on to talk about link back requirements)

The link can be just about any type of link and in his thread over at V7N he provides examples of the links: http://www.v7n.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23744

Good luck with the contest guys.

Can you beat the Google Sandbox???

Filed under: Search Engine Optimization — Administrator @ 5:14 am

So I belong to a few private forums and one of the subjects that came up was about the Google Sandbox. Most of the forums members rarely discuss the sandbox most of the time it’s contextual advertising/link development and helping each other out.

We got in a little discussion about the sandbox and some people think it cannot be beat. I for one will tell you right now it can be beat. You aren’t going to rank for poker or viagra within the first couple of months but you can get traffic from Google from day one. I do not want to go into specifics on this post myself (but will at a later date) I would just like to hear if anyone else was able to outwit the Google Sandbox.

Gung hay fat choy!

Filed under: Fun Stuff — Administrator @ 8:22 pm

So growing up I had this crazy cousin… you know what I’m talking about every family has one. He was the type of guy that did funny shit all the time. One day he didn’t want to be at school so he told the nurse he had scabies and it worked. He was always pulling crap like that.

Well, one day in July we ordered pizza. After he paid the guy he was trying to be funny and he told the pizza guy “Gung hay fat choy” and smiled. The pizza guy gave him some funny look like he was some retard but then asked what my cousin said. My cousin went into this speech on how he was blessing the pizza and that it was apart of his Buddhist beliefs. The pizza guy stood at the door for a good couple of minutes listening to his rubbish.

After the pizza guy left I asked my cousin what did you really say and he replied he had no idea that he had heard it on TV. I later found out what he said meant happy new year in Chinese. So just about every new year I think about my crazy cousin.

BTW…. Gung hay fat choy!
